As part of my “Its not about the destination” project, I have come to the conclusion that for me and my colour film work, Kodak Gold 200 in 120 format is now my goto colour film.
It was a toss up between Ektar and Gold but Gold wins as it gives me “straight out the box” colour saturation I really like and for me, a true to life look and feel with properly exposed images.
Your mileage might be different and that is why I enjoy film, as over time what film and how we develop it becomes personal to us and this then ends up as “your look” in film photography.
I develop both my colour and B&W films myself using a Jobo CPE3 and for colour Digibase C41 kit.
As for Black & White I am leaning heavily toward Ilford Delta 400 and developing it in Crowley’s FX-55 but as of the date of the post I have a little more testing of this combo to make sure.
Colour and Me.
I used very little colour film, normally unused reference shots of the main B&W ones I take, but as Gold has proved to be an easy to use and develop films that as I said eelier delivers what I need in a colour film, it is now firmly my go to.
