Yesterday morning, riding into work at 6am, I noticed something small — but it felt big.
For the first time in weeks, the horizon wasn’t pitch black. Instead, there was that deep navy blue glow creeping in. The kind that tells you winter is loosening its grip, even if only slightly.
It’s been a wet February. Proper wet. The sort that soaks gloves, creeps into seams, and makes every ride feel like a test of commitment rather than a pleasure. But today — and more importantly tomorrow — the forecast is finally giving us a break. Sunshine, a bit of warmth, and temperatures nudging into the 16–17°C range.
Just enough to catch a whiff of what’s coming.
You can feel it already. The change in the air. The lighter mornings. The roads starting to look inviting again instead of punishing. Those who tuck their motorcycles and scooters away for winter are beginning to ask the question: “Is it safe to come out and play yet?”
And those of us who ride through it all — the cold, the dark, the relentless rain — are starting to glimpse the reward. Not in one big moment, but in these little signs. A brighter sky. Drier roads. The promise of warmth on your back instead of water down your collar.
Spring doesn’t arrive all at once. It creeps in quietly.
But when you spot it… you know.
Happy days are on their way again.
Ride sharp.
Live loud.
Stay free.
